This one was special. I met Heather and Zach just over a month before their beautiful wedding in Calgary, Alberta, when they called me to inquire about an engagement session. Since Zach is stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas, they were looking for a local Wedding Photographer to do an engagement shoot. They would be tying the knot in Calgary, where both are originally from, but they wanted a session in Corpus Christi to show friends and family where they have been living recently.
We met for the session and had an amazing time hanging out, which then led to my wife and I rushing to get passports and making travel plans to join them in Canada for their wedding, which was only weeks away. This one was special. My wife Mandi and I had an amazing time exploring Calgary, Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise, and everywhere in between, and we even got to photograph Heather & Zach’s first look in the mountains at a place that Zach grew up visiting as a child. This one was special. This one was filled with so much love, not just between Heather and Zach, but from all of their family and friends that gathered to celebrate them. This one was special. It rained. Nobody cared. This one was special. It was about the people, the love, the moment, and the union of two people that love God and each other. This one was special, and it was an honor to photograph.
And yes, the water in the lakes really is that color…I promise.
